Welcome to my portfolio

I am an Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Creative Director. My professional experience ranges from the editorial space to the agency environment and everywhere in between.

I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2000. I began my career working in print shops, both offset and silk screen, with the express purpose of ganging practical knowledge of the printing process.

In 2003 I was hired as a production artist at the MetroTimes, an alternative weekly newspaper in Detroit, MI. Eventually I became the Production Manager, and then the Design Director. Much of my current portfolio reflects the editorial illustrations and layouts I did for this paper.

In 2008 I left the newspaper business for a time and was given the opportunity to work at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where our department’s primary function was designing for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons. My illustration background was put to good use in this role, especially for kid friendly events and promotions. We created all manner of collateral material for advertising, in-arena display, apparel, marketing material and more.

I have been employed as the Creative Director at a small branding firm in Metro Detroit, a Department Manager with the daily newspapers owned by large companies such as Gannett, and as an independent artist for many freelance clients over the years.
